Fast, easy & delicious chocolate mousse

When I turned on my phone last night after teaching a yoga class I found the following message “Dinner at Rhi’s… meet at 7.45pm… bring dessert”… As it was now 7.15pm and I was just leaving my studio in my yoga gear I thought…hmmm… what to do?!

After intercepting the fiance in a supermarket trying to buy Sara Lee Apple Danish and vanilla bean icecream I hatched a plan… after a quick text to the host to see if she had any raw cacao I was up and running…. raw cacao chocolate mousse coming at us!

This is literally the quickest, easiest and most delicious thing EVER so I highly suggest you try it (maybe even for breakfast)!

Ingredients (exactly what I added last night as it was what I had):

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 banana
  • 4 medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup of raw cacao (I would have added a bit more but we had limited supplies – all depends on how chocolatey you like it)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • pinch of Himalayan salt
  • dash cinnamon

To do:

Pop it all in a blender and whiz til creamy and moussey… then serve. I made ours before dinner (when I arrived – still in yoga gear – as per usual) and then popped it in the fridge while we ate.  It was next level… !

Here are some more bits you can add to make it even more decadent:

  • A little vanilla
  • Maybe some coconut meat for extra creamy-ness (or coconut cream from the can if you do not have the fresh stuff)
  • You can try different sweetners like coconut nectar, or maple syrup…. experiment!
  • Maybe even some medicine flower essences for extra flavour.

It’s soooo good I actually want to make this for breakfast now… and I might!

ENJOY! x
